Today we gladly bestow the honor of:
“The Corporate morons of the year award” to: Dah Sing Bank Hong Kong
This award is for their ceaseless efforts to remove Apple/linux AND Windows support from their line of banking and Stock-market trading platforms.
According to Dah Sing their “Approved configuration is as follows:”
- A computer with Internet connection
- Microsoft Windows XP
- Recommend to use Internet Explorer 6.x / 7.x (with Java Runtime Environment V1.6.0_07 installed.)
Whilst the rest of the world and Microsoft have marked “Internet Explorer 6.x ” as EOL/unsupported and the bitch of multiple security vulnerabilities.
The Dai Sing Bank Hong Kong has declared it is amongst their chosen solution if you require internet banking and stock-trading support.
Glad to See that “windows XP” is also a requirement. (as is the ever important “internet connection”)
I would never of figured that internet-banking (or Ibanking as they call it, wow…), would actually require an internet connection.
Plus for added security of their banking services, tablets are NOT supported nor are mobile phones.
Again, congratulations to the Dai Sing Bank of Hong Kong on achieving such a monumental accomplishment.
